London Potters is a not for profit organisation formed in 1986 to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences for everyone with an interest in ceramics.
Our organisation started in London but members are not restricted to those in London. Many members are based across the UK and internationally. We are proud to be non-selective. We welcome potters and ceramicists at all experience levels including anyone who loves ceramics but isn’t a maker.
Our members are united by the appreciation of ceramic art, a desire to further their knowledge and a keenness to communicate with fellow artists and collectors.
If you’re into ceramics, you can join us!

Our objectives as a charity
- Help members achieve a more critical awareness of their skills
- Provide a showcase to promote members’ work through exhibitions, selling events, newsletters, website gallery and social media
- Develop members’ knowledge and promote the exchange of ideas and techniques through workshops, talks and demonstrations
- Encourage appreciation of ceramics to its members and the wider audience of pottery enthusiasts, collectors and galleries. Arrange opportunities for the public to see members’ work on display
- We aim for diversity, equality and inclusion in what we do. The organisation will not discriminate based on race, sex, disability, sexuality, age, nor political, religious or other opinions.
Governance
London Potters is a charity run by members for members. The Charity is overseen by a Council. The Council consists of volunteer trustees who meet six times a year to carry out and organise the London Potters business.
We also hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is a day of both business and fun to which all members are invited.
London Potters does not have a physical headquarters. Meetings are conducted virtually or in person.

Activities
We run a lively programme of exhibitions, craft markets, talks, competitions and skill building workshops. Some activities are for members only while others are open to all. They are a great way to meet fellow members and non members alike.
We publish a physical magazine six times a year for UK members. Members outside the UK can download the digital version of the magazine through the website.
Many of our activities rely on the generous help of volunteer members to organise, publicise and run events on the day.
