Collaboration between LP & SSILB member from September to October

Exhibition date : 01st November 2025

After the successful collaboration last year, we are pleased  to announce the 2025 collaboration event with SSILB.

Fifteen London Potters members will have an opportunity to pair up with a SSILB member to explore and make a container for an arrangement during September/October and then exhibit their arrangement on the 01st November 2025

Participants are allowed to bring three additional pieces for sale during the day of exhibition. SSILB will take 10% commission on the sales. Please bring your device with you to take payment.  Please make sure you are available during the full day.

July /August

Registration and Pairing between London Potters and Sogetsu members.

The pairing will be announced at the beginning of September.

September 3rd – 6pm

Online talk from Irene Moore the director of SSILB who will explain the principles of Ikebana and the target for this exhibition. A link will be sent to you by email for the talk

September/October: Discussion with your pair and making 

Each LP member will be paired up with a SSILB member following ticket booking by the Sogetsu School of Ikebana London Branch team.

You are then asked to connect directly to arrange discussions/meetings to prepare for your project. For example, in the pair, SSILB member may have an idea of an arrangement and wish for a container to be made specially or use existing work by London Potters member. It is up to the pair to agree timing of the readiness of the container and how the container will be transported to the SSILB member if the container is needed before the exhibition day of the 01st November. London Potters will not be involved in the discussions between the paired up members. We are suggesting to have your pot ready at least two weeks before the exhibition and to test if it is watertight by living water in it for at least a full day. Please make more than one pot in vessel a problem occur to the original one.

Cost of the florals for arrangement will be borne by the SSILB member. Cost of making the container will be borne by the LP member.

01st November 2025: Arrangement & exhibition

The schedule for the 01st November is as follows:

09:00am – 10:30am Make arrangement & Refreshments

12:00pm – 05:00pm Public exhibition

05:00pm – 06:00pm Pack down

Refreshments will be available on the day however lunch will not be provided.
