The award is open to Members of London Potters and applicants must be a member by the date of the application submission. The deadline for applications will be 31st August 2026.
Day 1 : Learn to throw miniature porcelain pots using specialist small wheels. All tools are provided, and while you can make as many as you like, up to three pieces will be selected and bisque-fired for the next session.
Day 2: Explore the exciting Micro Raku firing process in a microwave You’ll glaze and fire your bisque pots using microwave kilns, with six glazes to choose from. Expect smoke, spontaneity, and one-of-a-kind results!
This workshop is the sought after two day glaze workshop by Linda Bloomfield. There are two elements of this workshop: (i) glaze materials lecture and (ii) practical glaze making and discussion. On day 1, Linda will demonstrate glaze making, after which you will be mixing your chosen glazes and then glazing your test tiles. At the end of day 1, your test tiles will be fired. On day 2, we will start with a talk on glaze materials. The kiln will be opened during lunch and we will be discussing the results in the afternoon.
After the success of last year’s event, Jack Durling returns to lead a hands-on workshop in creating your own ceramic animal sculpture. Participants will learn hollow forming and modelling techniques—including coiling, slab building, and the use of armatures—alongside drawing exercises and maquette making. Guided step by step, you’ll develop a freestanding or seated animal piece (up to 30 × 30 cm) while gaining practical skills and a deeper understanding of clay sculpture, leaving with a finished work that captures the character of your chosen animal.
In this practical 4 hour workshop photographer Yeshen Venema and Stylist Emma Shipley will demonstrate how to use both natural light to style and photograph your work within a contemporary home setting.
Join acclaimed ceramic artist Jo Taylor for a two-day handbuilding workshop exploring ornament, form and surface decoration. Inspired by her distinctive ceramic practice and techniques featured on The Great Pottery Throw Down, participants will create a coiled vessel or sculpture and learn to make both mould-made and freehand sprigs to embellish their work. Suitable for all abilities, this immersive workshop includes demonstrations, practical making sessions, and an insight into Jo’s creative process through examples of her work and sketchbooks.
