Urban Potters in Camberwell Green will host Open Studios on 6 & 7 December, offering a rare glimpse into the creative hub led by master potter Adrian Gonzalez.

Urban Potters, a vibrant open-access ceramics studio nestled just off Camberwell Green, is opening its doors to the public for a special Open Studios event on Saturday and Sunday, 6 & 7 December, from 11am to 5pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the studio space, meet resident artists, and witness the diverse range of ceramic work produced under the guidance of studio director Adrian Gonzalez. Urban Potters is described as a thriving open-access studio with a diverse community of ceramicists and a place where creativity and sense of community is going stronger and stronger.

Gonzalez, a London-based potter with over 30 years of experience, is known for his striking moon jars and refined tableware crafted for high-end restaurants like Aqua Kyoto and Soho House.

After being kindly asked to move out from his previous studio in West Norwood for redevelopment Adrian founded Urban Potters in 2022 to provide an affordable, light-filled space for fellow creatives. He also opened a second studio to accommodate growing demand, last year, fully dedicated to teaching and workshops, and available for hire.

Adrian is a member of London Potters. Other LP members creating in his studio are: Jenny Shramenko, Melissa Restrepo, Grace Birkett Kenrick.

The Open Studios weekend will showcase the studio’s dynamic community and offer insights into the ceramic-making process, from wheel throwing to glaze techniques. It’s a celebration of craftsmanship, collaboration, and the thriving artistic spirit of South London.

For those curious about ceramics or seeking inspiration, Urban Potters promises a warm welcome and a hands-on look at the artistry behind the clay.
