Path and Inspiration
My ceramics practice grew from a wider creative background and an interest in making through material and process. I’m drawn to landscape as both physical terrain and a carrier of memory, particularly volcanic and geological environments. Through hand-building and layered surfaces, I explore erosion, formation and the traces that places accumulate over time.Process and Practice
My practice is rooted in hand-building, particularly coiling, alongside casting and inlay. I work slowly and experimentally, allowing forms and surfaces to develop through making. Layers of slip, glaze and contrasting clay are built, removed and reworked to create depth, texture and irregularity, with firing treated as an active part of the process.
