Path and Inspiration
Originally from Iran, I blend heritage and contemporary ceramics in tiles, tableware, and sculptural work. My pieces explore identity, freedom, and transformation, using patterns, textures, and braided forms as a visual language. Alongside making, I teach students of all levels, fostering creativity, experimentation, and personal expression in clay, while continuing to explore the dialogue between tradition, innovation, and storytelling.Process and Practice
My approach to ceramics is metaphorical, inspired by my surroundings and reflecting what I see and feel symbolically. Before coming to the UK, I primarily worked with earthenware clays, creating and painting tiles, and completed two beautiful hand-painted murals. Now,I am thrilled to explore the variety of clays available, enjoying both handbuilding and wheel throwing.I particularly love making complex coil-assembled structures, expanding my artistic horizons and experimenting with new technique.
