Path and Inspiration
Belgin Bozsahin is a ceramic artist creating abstract and figurative sculptures and wall pieces. Working with porcelain, she explores the interplay of shapes, textures and space, focusing on contrasts between smooth and rough, inside and outside, visible and hidden. Born in Istanbul, she has lived in London for over three decades, exhibiting in Istanbul, London, Bergen and on the QE2. Her works are in private collections globally, and she supports peace projects through Arts4Giving.Process and Practice
I have been working with the notion of contrasting surfaces for several years. I employ hand-forming, slip-casting, and press-moulding techniques to create my work. Experimenting with layers, accumulations, and hidden spaces on surfaces has become the starting point and new direction behind a recent series of works.
