Path and Inspiration
My Inspiration comes from oriental ceramics, classic Chinese and Janonaise pottery
I am much influenced by the artist craftsman tradition and ideals of the Leach Pottery tradition.
I strive not so much for perfection but rather a sense of presence and soul in the pots I make.
I like then to be used and enjoyed as part of everyday life.
I also make scuplptural pieces and decorativbe wall plaques.Process and Practice
I have been a potter for over 40 years . I trained as a potter in the US, where I had my own studio and sold my work in craft gelaries and fairs. Since moving to Ebgland I have been potting only part time, while I also work as an art therapist and psychotherapist. The pots I make are high fire din an oxidation or reduction, in stoneware and porcelain made for everyday use.
