Path and Inspiration
I started with pottery via adult education and very quickly fell in love with clay especially porcelain. I love the texture and purity of it. After a short while I acquired my own wheel and kiln and set up my studio.
My inspiration for my work comes from the simple architectural lines of the minimalist style and for my stoneware pieces the colours of the cosmos.Process and Practice
During my continuous learning journey I have experimented with Raku, agate ware, smoke firing in a garden incinerator, slip casting and piercing using fine diamond drill bits.
I try to get into my studio every day so I can hone my skills. In general I prefer to leave the exterior of my ceramics unglazed then polish it with very fine abrasives.
