Path and Inspiration
Emma Cooke, aka Hello-Ditto, is a multi-disciplinary ceramicist whose practice inhabits the space between design methodology and craft execution. Their practice, informed by a background in graphic design, investigates the relationship between concept, form, and haptic experience through multiple iterations and collections of vessels. Blending traditional craft techniques with innovative processes and material research to create pieces that are both thoughtfully designed and physically engaging.Process and Practice
Decorative and functional ceramic vessels, inspired by Brutalist architecture and Mid-Century design aesthetics, formed from the same experimental modular slip casting system. Subverting what is traditionally a method of mass production through the introduction of an innovative artistic approach to the process, thus making each piece unique. Layers and sections of the adaptable plaster moulds are individually decorated by hand, allowing for multiple evolving iterations of forms.
