Path and Inspiration
Hokolo reflects Jen Taylor’s dual heritage, shaped by growing up in Hong Kong and building her life in London. Her aesthetic blends Hong Kong’s visual energy with London’s design culture, enriched by studying architecture at university and working as an architect for 12 years. That discipline meets her love of colour, pattern, and everyday beauty, forming a playful yet structured creative voice.Process and Practice
The studio now focuses on one‑off ceramic pieces handmade by Jen in a south London community studio. Working in small batches, she wheel‑throws forms that blend clean modernist lines with rich textures, bold colour, and influences from Chinese and Japanese pottery. Each piece balances architectural discipline with tactile warmth, expressing her cross‑cultural roots.
