Path and Inspiration
Inspired by missing out on a school trip to Hornsey Pottery as a child, I have had a lifelong ambition to throw pots which I finally achieved in my 40's. Having studied at Esher, Sutton and Morley colleges over the past ten years I am on my way to achieve my ambition where I can leave the London life, head off to the countryside, throw, teach and run a small business with accommodation and good food thrown in.Process and Practice
My favoured medium is stoneware clay that has texture and varied colour that influences the glazes. I work predominantly on the wheel. In particularly like the Sibelco specialist clays with my current favourites being their Spotted stoneware. I have reduced the carbon footprint of my practice by specialising in Single Firing. My glazing practice involve layering multiple glazes to accentuate kiln-alchemy and provide a contrast between the luscious glaze and the bare clay
