Path and Inspiration
With a background in shoe and interior design, I was drawn to clay through a throwing course with Emma Johnson. From that first class grew a fascination with the materially of clay and its ability to hold and express both conceptual ideas and personal observations of the world around me. Completing the city ceramics diploma in 2025 strengthen both my technical understanding of making and clay itself and also gave me the space and confidence to develop my ideas and find my own language of making.Process and Practice
My practice explores how attention and observation can change the way we see and feel the world around us, recognising the fragile connections between people, materials and the natural world.Working in south-west London, I hand build and slip cast sculptural pieces in porcelain, crank and wild clay. Experimental in my approach, I combine clay with materials such as metal slate paper and wool to contrast and compliment and to add tension while always keeping clay at the core of my work.
