I recently gained my HND from Morley College, giving me the confidence to explore artistic ideas and inspiration. I was awarded the Society of Dyers and Colourists New Designers prize for my project Traces. Traces is a triptych printed in clay. The Trent Mersey canal journeys across the piece from Derby to Liverpool against a textured background of 12 deliberate shades of blue. Brick patterns and ghost bottle kilns emerge for the attentive viewer. I aim to make beautiful pieces.
