Path and Inspiration
I began a gradual return to making from 2020 after more than 30 years in property, design and business. This began with the establishment of a pottery school and gallery before shifting fully into ceramic sculpture. I am inspired by the shared human story - how culture, ancestry and identity shape who we are, and how contradiction adds to our complexity. I am fascinated by posture, presence and the psychological weight a body can carry.Process and Practice
From my lovely, bright studio in Wimbledon, I create hand-built terracotta sculptures of the human figure, taking fragments from past and present. I enjoy the challenges of low fire glazing and love to create unique glazes that pull on the edges and accentuate the red clay. I paint on all my glazes and decorate with sgraffito and slip trailing. I start an MA in Fine Art Sculpture at City & Guilds of London Art School in 2026.
