Path and Inspiration
I originally trained in Theatre Design at Central St Martins.
I began working with clay 4 years ago after years of collecting mid-century ceramics.
I use bold colours and design that although playful make a study of pattern and design on a 3D form.
My practice uses hand-building technics plus print and mark-making to create the surface designs.
I am inspired by the patterns and colours of mid-century design and the rhythm and repetition of the natural world.Process and Practice
My pots are mostly coil-built with stoneware clay.I build classic shapes to lay my designs across, using slip, underglaze & mark-making, each shape determines the design.
