Path and Inspiration
I studied Fine Art in Delhi with a focus on sculpture, later exploring ceramics after moving to London. Learning from slipware potters deepened my practice. A visit to Mashiko, Japan in 2018 inspired a looser, more expressive style. My Indian heritage, especially its bold colours and patterns, continues to influence my palette. My work blends East and South Asian aesthetics through vibrant, abstract forms.Process and Practice
I make both functional and decorative ceramics, working primarily with wheel-thrown, iron-rich earthenware clay. I love how this clay brings warmth and depth to the colors layered over it. My approach is a balance of precision and spontaneity—while I keep my forms clean and well-defined, my surface decorations are loose and expressive. I particularly enjoy slip trailing and sgraffito—techniques I hope to continue improving at.
