Path and Inspiration
I am a self-taught ceramic artist with over twenty years of experience working with clay. My inspiration comes from handmade objects, everyday forms and traditional crafts, shaped by the different cultures I have experienced living in South Africa, Greece, Spain, France and the UK. I am drawn to the meeting point between usefulness and beauty, tradition and experimentation.Process and Practice
I work intuitively with different types of clay, slips and glazes, exploring colour, texture, form and surface. I use my own photographs and press cuttings as sources of inspiration, and visit craft exhibitions, fairs and markets, particularly in London and Paris. I rarely begin with a fixed outcome, allowing the material and the piece to guide its development.
