Path and Inspiration
I found ceramics about 5 years ago and have been obsessed with clay ever since. I have no artistic background so finding my path is very much a journey in the making. Whatever I make, I find I am most contended and calm when working with clay. I love making animals but also really want to explore making more abstract, curved sculptural pieces. I am inspired by people I know, emotions and experiences, and the world around me - and of course many sculptors and ceramic artists.Process and Practice
I mainly handbuild, I like exploring what I can do with the clay and also different clay bodies. It's all just a wonderful experience. I have struggled to find glazes I like and really prefer more organic looking lava glazes, smoke and raku firing. The magic of Raku and smoke firing is just so exciting.
