Path and Inspiration
Years of occasional pottery led me to UAL’s BA Ceramics graduating in 2021 during COVID, a time that left me deflated and isolated, lacking the guided creative fulfilment I had hoped for. I took a break from clay, but as normality returned, so did my drive. In 2023, I undertook the City Lit Ceramics Diploma. It deepened my material knowledge and allowed space for a personal, emotionally resonant practice to emerge. All my teachers have inspired and guided the maker I am now.Process and Practice
My practice is rooted in improvisation and experimentation guided by themes of environmental and personal loss. Embracing unpredictability, I take an instinctive, evolving approach to materials and clay offers the flexibility to explore complex ideas and emotional resonance, supporting my lateral process, whether with paperclay slip, thrown stoneware, local found clays and photography.
