Path and Inspiration
My work is inspired by the clean lines, balanced proportions and understated elegance of mid-century modern design. I am interested in creating objects that are both functional and sculptural, where light becomes part of the composition. The interplay of form, shadow and illumination guides each piece, with an emphasis on simplicity, warmth and craftsmanship.Process and Practice
I make sculptural stoneware table lamps by hand in my South London studio. Unusually, both the base and the shade are formed from clay, allowing me to consider the lamp as a unified ceramic object. Each piece is wheel-thrown and altered, with carefully placed cut-outs that filter light and create subtle patterns. I embrace the natural variations of clay, making every lamp unique.
