Path and Inspiration

After many years working in the creative digital space, in 2020 I decided to focus entirely on creating sculptural lighting using ceramics. I discovered that materials such as ultra-thin, translucent porcelain and earthy, unglazed terracotta work well together.Inspired by the fractal-like chaotic structures found in natural forms, I handbuild pieces spanning ‘affordable’ candle lanterns to high-end pendant and table lamps as well as non-functional sculpture and wall art.

Process and Practice

In my studio in London, I’ve spent several years developing a practice that combines ancient raw materials such porcelain and terracotta with high-tech modern techniques such as 3D printing and electronics. I try to push the materials to their limits and my technical background helps me to explore the interaction of light and clay.
