Path and Inspiration
I have been working in ceramics for the last 30 years, first learning whilst living in Hong Kong. When I returned to the UK, did a CIty and Guilds course in Ceramics and continued to learn and work on my wheel technique. For 12 years I owned and ran a pottery painting studio, where members of the public came to enjoy the fun of painting ceramics. I ran lots of pottery workshops, after-school clubs and summer programmes for kids and found that I loved working therapeutically with the arts.Process and Practice
I am inspired by many things; nature, the sea, music, people and places. I begin with a thought or a feeling and go from there. I usually make a small mock up of my idea, try out textures and glazes on smaller pieces before committing to the final piece. It is a slow process!
