Path and Inspiration

My work is predominantly figurative and inspired by theatre, circus, myth, magic, animals and nature. I lived on a sailboat in the Mediterranean for 23 years and fired my pieces on deserted beaches in an old converted oil drum and sold them in shops and galleries along our route.

Process and Practice

I use porcelain paperclay to make figurative sculptures and I have developed a printing and sculpting technique that I use for my faces. I combine these with vintage textiles. After returning to the UK in December 2022 I began to reacquaint myself with throwing vessels
