Pop over to Kim Shepherd’s page - she is my sister and a brilliant potter and Kim got me into clay. She’s miles better than me. For me it was all about taking clay impressions from objects and turning them into pots.I’m also a massive maker - furniture / weaving / sewing / painting so the pottery is a newish thing.I also teach ceramics in a school. I can’t throw a pot for toffee so I hand build everything . This mainly involves taking casts and impressions from trees and Victorian coalhole covers and making them into plates and bowls. They are very beautiful and it’s a celebration of the Victorian love of decoration.More recently I have been working with underglazes and bought a pack of very expensive paints !
